Sat in with "Doctor J Boogie" for my first studio experience. I wasn't expecting to be on air at all yet he said I have to do the next few breaks. It was very nerve racking but exciting at the same time! I stumbled on my words a bit and all in all, the breaks were very weak. It was still fun, though. We switched on and off doing breaks until the end of the show. There was a local artist that came in for an interview so that was also cool to see and interact with.
The second night I came in, I had pre-written some breaks to read when it was my time to do a break. This helped me out tremendously with getting comfortable on the mic. Although I understand you can't always have everything printed out right in front of you, it was nice to have. The second night sounded a lot more professional and more fun to me. We took turns doing the breaks again. Still a bit nervous on the mic but getting more accustomed to it daily.
