With five KXTE air checks under my belt, it is time I move on to other genres. KALC in Denver had some job postings so I took it upon myself to make a top 40 aircheck. Despite the music not being my cup of tea (thank god for volume knobs), I am very happy with my energy and content brought to the 2 minute demo. My resume was updated today and I must say it makes me feel older. Very polished and direct. I have decided to let my air checks and production samples speak for themselves. I have another meeting with Ross Mahoney (the PD for KXTE) to talk about a couple other air checks I sent him last week. I have been told it is very difficult to get a PDs attention because of the work load they have to carry around with them so you do have to interject yourself sometimes and I am very glad I got that advice. His critique today will insure that my air checks will be only the highest of quality both in production and content. I am quite anxious for that quick meeting. I have begun to make a list of stations and states I would like to apply in. It is nice that radio can be a transient occupation if you'd like it to be. Colorado, Oregon, Washington, California, New York, Michigan, Wisconsin and Illinois are my top choices. Let's see where this takes me.
