After the show this morning Newy wanted me to record a 10 minute segment for him. I got to use the stations mic and headphones and sit in the Host's chair, it was like the real deal. Very cool experience. The best part was that I nailed it. I went the whole 10 minutes and talked about my topic convincingly. Newy thought so too, said I did very well for my first time recording with him. His critiques were that I need to slow down. I'm a fast talker naturally and he said that a tough part of this job is to know when to slow down. He knows it's not a natural thing to do but with practice I will get the hang of slowing my rate of speech and getting a clear message to the listeners. He also said I need to pause more. That will help let my ideas and opinions fester a little in the minds of my listeners and they can form their own opinions. Just a brief pause nothing to long but it definitely helps the show. I can't wait for my next recording with him to see if I have improved.
