Session 25 & 26
4:15-7:00 pm
Chapter 14 (1) and 15 (2) is dedicated to sports. I am not really into sports to the extent that I would feel comfortable enough to report it. So for me this was a little challenging and interesting. However, I love a challenge. I listened to a few sport reports to get an idea of what a broadcaster reporting sports news sounds like and incorporated my own disc jockey style. When editing my recording, I realized that I need some editing buffing with Adobe. I’m pretty good, but my work does not come out as smooth as I would like it to when listening to the finished product. I feel like there is still so much to learn with using the program.
Ch 16- weather forecast notes
- Weather reports play a very important role in local broadcasting. Local radio stations usually get their weather information from the stations subscription internet service or network affiliation, other sources include online weather service Buras and the Associated Press.

Assignment: Write and record a weather forecast for sunny, hot and smoggy LA. Then write a forecast for cold, wet and rainy Boston. Log onto a radio station’s website in those cities to see what the actual forecast sounds like locally. To complete this assignment you will need to write and produce your own original reports for these cities.
Jay Dixon suggested WBZ for Boston and KNX for LA. I did some research and watched some weather forecast for Boston to end off our session.
