Tonight I practiced and recoreded my 3 hour show live without stopping. In order to make it as real and as challenging as possible I pulled the playlist from one of the local radio stations and played their order. I was able to make CDs and I played them from the CD player as well as transitioning to playing MP3's from the computer. The goal was to have successful cross fades and also to have almost too much to do and to watch. I wrote out all my ad-libs so that that the transitions would be seamless and on time. When I recorded the computer that did the recording crashed about halfway through so I inadvertently lost the whole program, however, the three hours flew by and I had a lot of fun doing this particular project. Gary wants us to come back to this lesson later and tighten things up and re-record an hour so I can play it in my car and hear how I sound in the car.
