It's an amazing feeling to know that you're finally going out and accomplishing your dreams. I haven't been able to really have the "hands on" experience of following my dreams since 2010 when I interned with Power 98 in Charlotte, NC. I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity, but due to life changes, my career path took me in a totally opposite direction. I don't regret the path I traveled, however it's time I took a detour and get back on the path of broadcasting.

Today was my first "official" lesson back in the studio with Mary Kaye and My Wade on Star 810. They are truly a joy to work with. They took a more laid back approach to our lessons, which allowed me to learn a lot more, versus sticking to the script of the assigned book work. Yesterday we delve into PFL, segment creation, black, white, and gray artist, the difference between 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bits, and audio edits just to name a few. The lesson was jammed packed with terms and concepts I wasn't necessarily aware of, but it was fascinating to be in the trenches with them. Mary Kaye even gave me a shout out on the air! *fist pump*

I'm ecstatic about my next lesson on Wednesday and what will come in the near future. I can already tell that I will have an extensive amount of growth during these next six months. I've already looked at some snazzy pink headphones that I will be purchasing for my journey. We're still working on my actual on air name, but I'm thinking "Mz. Monay" will fit just nicely.

Stay tuned, because this is a journey you don't want to miss!
